Queen City Marathon

One of the things we did not know when we bought our new house is that the QCM runs *right* infront of our house. Really, we can't get out of our driveway for fear of hitting runners. I can't schedule pulpit supply that day...it's like getting snowed in. Now last year we just sat and watched the runners from the window, as the weather was less than perfect. But not this year. It was HOT and sunny, so we decided to make the best of it and cheer the runners on. The marathon goes on for a loooooooong time, which tests the patience of even the best behaved kids. But Sophia and Jacob were game to sit outside for a while doodling on the sidewalk and cheering on the runners. Jacob found it thrilling to give the athletes high fives as they went past. And they were game too. We had a great time cheering, and meeting some of our other neighbours. We probably will do it again next year.

watching the runners...

waiting, ever so patiently waiting...

SUCCESS!!!
