The Wedding Event of the Year -the prep, the primping and the service

No, it's not William and Kate....nope, it was Todd and Dea. After much planning and thinking and more planning, the two of them finally got married. And it was a lovely day. The rain only sprinkled in the morning and the sun came out for the service and the pictures. It was a wee nippy in the wind, but otherwise it was a beautiful Vancouver day. My family got the pleasure of helping out in many ways....I officiated the wedding (thanks guys!) and made the wedding cake, Sophia was flower girl, Jacob was ring bearer, and David was reception MC. It was so wonderful to be part of a such a special day for two very awesome people. Who, btw, are honeymooning in Hawaii.

Jacob looking dashing in his tux, although here he looks a little like he is trying out for a mariachi band. Cute none the less shaking the ministers maracas.

Doing the finishing touches. Sophia, mommy and nanna all went to get their hair done in the morning. When asked, Sophia proudly said that she wanted curls in her hair. Looks pretty cute, no?

All ready!

Does this boutonnière make my head look small?

The groom and the ring bearer (or "burier" as Sophia put it) just before the service.

The big moment!

A little tenuous at first, but once he got down the aisle, he tried to make a dash back up it he had so much fun!

Bird's eye view of the service.

The newly married groom snuggling with his niece.

Married!

A special moment with the niece and nephew.

What an awesome day!
